done for now...
Exams are done and over.
What a great feeling it is to be done! First year of grad school:
finished!!!!!! Wahoo. Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!! They are
quite literally all blessings from Him.
I couldn’t have done it without mediating on His Words. This past week
encouraged total dependence and reliance on the Ultimate Provider.
I admit I am not a studious student. I would rather sit and
chat over a cup of coffee than read about language disorders in adults. This
comes as no shock to my roommate… Even though
I do not always have a heart of thanksgiving, He provides. This past semester He has provided grace in
my weakness and wisdom from Above. Two
scriptures that clearly talk about this are James 3:13-18 and 2 Corinthians12:1-10.
We can chat more about these later but for now we made it
through with His wisdom and grace!!Wednesday, April 24, 2013
toasted
To have the desire to pursue
excellence is one thing. To pursue excellence is another.
Today, I choose to become like Him by acting on excellence through His power granted to me.
1 Peter 2:3&4 "His divine power has granted to us all things
that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his
precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having
escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire."
Today, I choose
escape my sinful desires.
Today, I
choose to enjoy His eternal promises. Today, I choose to become like Him by acting on excellence through His power granted to me.

A legacy
What legacy are you leaving? What will you be known for?
Over and over and over Paul writes in the New Testament encouraging the churches to be Holy children of God through prayer and the pursuit of holiness. He warns them time and time again to stay righteous; stand firm against the devil. A life worth living imitates godliness and holiness.

As I strive to live out the Truth,
I want to be known for the Lord Jesus Christ in me. Not only do I want to live
as Philippians
2:12-18 says “lights in the world.” I want to be a peacemaker. James 3:17-18 says “The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full
of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. A
harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
I want to be a peaceable, gentle, light in the darkness full of mercy
and sincerity, open to reason while being open to reason and impartial to all.Monday, April 22, 2013
Praise the Lord - Monday
I will praise the Lord for:
1. A good episode by Focus on the Family that
reminds me to stay strong and focus on my studies towards the end of the
semester. My future career will allow me
love ALL my future kiddos. First, they are dearly loved children of the God who mayn’t have experienced or felt that love. Secondly, they mayn't experience earthly love. Furthermore, I have the opportunity to share the love of Christ
with everyone I encounter. Families
in the states and overseas need to realize all children are blessing from
the Lord, even kids with disabilities…
2.
A good conversation with Devan. Praise the Lord for hearts softened towards His Gospel. Praise the Lord for calling His children on
short and long term missions. Praise the
Lord for His Universal Truth and unity amongst believers all over the World….
3. A Christ centered conversation with mom about the
Lord's work in our family recently….

Another day, another pair of scrubs
To be fairly honest some days it is hard to love
the “least of these.” I'm low on kindness, grace and patience. The last thing I want to do is put up with
someone who happens to be driving me crazy; unlovable seem even more unlovable
and love-less. Yet I, too, have those days where I am rather unlovely, my
breath stinks, I leave yet another pile of dirty dishes in the sink, I need to put
on deodorant and my hair hasn't been washed since who knows when.....But on the
worst days we are still daughters and sons of the Holy One. In my worst hours, I am subject to lay my
selfish, arrogant and prideful attitudes before the throne of Grace.
I have to remind myself of the God in Isaiah 6; the
one to whom I am subject to. We are subjected to the One to whom all the seraphs
bow and to the one before whom Isaiah bows crying "woest me, for I am of
unclean lips."
The days when I pray that my heart and attitudes
would imitate James 2 showing no partiality, come with blessings. Even if
not immediately, eventually, those who were unlovable become friends and I find
joy in their presence. James 1:25 tells
us that obedience to the Word of God will come with blessing. It states “But
the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and preserves,
being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed
in his doing" (ESV) (italics added by author). Today I choose to be an imitator of God,
conforming more to the image of the Lord Jesus.
